Player’s First Soccer Team and what they remember most about the experience: I started playing soccer when I was 12; the game was brought to my attention by a group of freshmen in high school whom I learned the rules from. This group formed a team and was competing against other amateur teams that consisted of age groups 15-16. Most of the time, we would explore the game by analyzing professionals play on TV and practicing without any supervision or coaching. Everybody was trying to encourage other people on the team to get stronger without the ball, and smarter and faster with the ball, while thinking a step ahead about our teammates' next move and ensuring that he had always had at least three options to diminish the risk of an injury due to unfortunate contact. I was the youngest player among the team of 9 players, who had all taught me to make good decisions on and off the field.
Favorite Player: Andrés Iniesta is my favorite athlete because he is a disciplined, strong, intelligent, and loyal soccer player whose leadership, vision, and decision-making had proven to be essential for success to his club and national team. He motivated me to be passionate and patient, smart and aggressive, collected and emotional, while keeping most impulses under control while on the field and in life in general.
Favorite Pre-Game Song: Eminem - "Lose Yourself"
Favorite Food: Chipotle
Favorite Quote or Scripture: ¨Intelligence is not enough. Intelligence plus character- that is the goal of true education.¨ Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Favorite Rebel Soccer Memory: Winning the district championship in 2016.
Goal(s) for the FHS Rebel Soccer Team 2017-2018: 1) Build a better understanding between the players on and off the field 2) Regional champions with ambition to become a state champion and desire to work for it. 3) Face our weaknesses and analyze our mistakes; learn from them quickly by changing futile habits.

Final Senior Sendoff from Parents: We are very proud to have a son like you, Alex! We are sure you can achieve anything you put your mind on. We hope you will continue to use soccer as a source of inspiration in the future. Love, Mom
